We pick a cozy spot and arrange chairs in a large circle.
We choose a person to start with, and that person has three options:
1.PLAY: Play or sing a song for the group, read a poem, tell a story, play an instrumental. You may also invite others to play or jam along with you...or not. Your choice. All musical styles are encouraged.
2. PICK: Choose a song you'd like to hear or have the group sing.
3. PASS: For the spectators, the shy, or anyone else who wishes to participate in the group but tends to blank out under pressure. Or, for anyone with their mouth full of food.
SONG CIRCLE is a traditional, relaxed way to share time, fun, art, and community. Acoustic instruments of all kinds are encouraged, but not necessary if you simply love to sing. No one dominates, but anyone may lead the group in song or entertain when it is their turn. People may enter or leave the circle as they wish, but at all times within and without the circle, it is understood that no one is to be rude or disruptive. The circle will continue until the last hearty soul peters out.

The band is made up of Tyler Hankins on drums, Mitch Partee on bass and vocals, Nick Graber on vocals, and Brandon Gallagher on guitar. We pick a cozy spot and arrange chairs in a large circle. If there's a sizable crowd, we sit in concentric circles and work from the center outward. We choose a person to start with, and decide to move to the left or the right. The person who is "up" has three options:
1.PLAY: Play or sing a song for the group, read a poem, tell a story, play an instrumental. It's nice if you introduce yourself beforehand so that we may get to know you. If a song has a chorus that
you think folks would enjoy singing along with, you may want to teach it to the group before you begin so that we may join you. You may also invite others to play or jam along with you...or not. Your choice. All
musical styles are encouraged.
2. PICK: Choose a song you'd like to hear or have the group sing. You may also request songs of other people in the group if you are familiar with their music and want to hear something that you and perhaps the others might enjoy.
No one dominates, but anyone
may lead the group in song or entertain when it is their turn. People may enter or leave the circle as they wish, but at all times within and without the circle, it is understood that no one is to be rude or disruptive. The circle will continue until the last hearty soul peters out, the Matrix closes, or we all file out and adjourn to the nearest gin mill to continue, to the shock and potential amusement of the local patrons.

Just Plain Bill

The Jupiter Order

Just Plain Bill?
Like the radio show…no. Like Bill Clinton…no. Just Plain Bill…and who’s Bill? Absolutely nobody. Really. Patrick Storedahl, Douglas Blum, and Ted Clark, playing guitar, bass, and drums, respectively, were the roots of a defunct Southwest Washington band, which sprang forth the budding flower that was to become Just Plain Bill. JPB formed in Olympia, Washington during the early 90’s. Patrick, Doug and Ted started playing original, quirky, pop-rock music (written by Storedahl and Blum) all around the Northwest. Having nothing in common with bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, or Soundgarden, and though they regularly played shows with grunge-styled bands, JPB was the antithesis of what was going on in the Northwest music scene at the time. Heavily influenced by bands like The Talking Heads, The Beatles, Warren Zevon, R.E.M. and The Kinks, the original songs of JPB are often an amalgamation of the plethora of influences by the individual members of the band.
Ethan Moreno, Ted’s neighbor, attended many JPB shows, and it wasn’t long before the band discovered that he played guitar. He attended a recording session and was asked if he wouldn’t mind laying down a guitar part at the end of a song. He promptly produced a cacophony of noisy feedback and was asked immediately if he’d like to join the fun. Ethan agreed that indeed it would be fun. Ethan brought his own influences to the table with the likes of Led Zeppelin, The Who, Pink Floyd, U2, and Joe Walsh.
In 2006 Peter joined the band, playing keyboards and guitar.

The Jupiter Order is a new group founded by keyboardist, vocalist and songwriter Raymond Hayden during the summer of 2011. Completing the ensemble with Susan Renville on Vocals…Scott Malone on Guitars….Chad Russell on Drums and Percussion and Jerry Gadd on Bass and backing vocals, this group focuses on rich harmonies, expressive dynamics, solid musicianship and creating a memorable show. Inspired by groups such as Toto, Chicago, Supertramp and Pink Floyd…they are quite a bit different than what you will currently hear in the existing music market.
