Informed and inspired by a 20 year
friendship with James L. D'Aquisto, Eric Miller has been building,
repairing, and customizing instruments, working one on one with players
for 17 years. He has taught guitar repair and construction courses at
Boston's Berklee College of Music and the Evergreen State College.
Eric is best known for impeccable craftsmanship, extreme attention to
clients' needs, and an almost clairvoyant ability to bring out the best
in an instrument. Meticulous fretwork is done using tension jigs for
ultimate accuracy, and Eric has pioneered fingerboard preparation and
finishing techniques that enhance tone and playability as well as
duplicating the look and feel of the finest vintage patinas.
He is a dealer of Tom Anderson, Morris, Robin, Gretsch, Dean,
Stromberg, Everett, Larrivee, Rainsong, Breedlove, Garrison and
D'Aquisto instruments as well as crafting his own Eric Miller Custom
Guitars. Eric offers and is extremely knowledgeable about most brands
of aftermarket pickups, both electric and acoustic. Hands on Guitars
also carries designer pedals by Roger Mayer, Zachery Vex, and Frantone
and maintains a large inventory of guitar specialty products such as
fossil ivory wooly mammoth nuts, saddles, bridge and endpins; Tone Pros
locking bridges, tailpieces and studs; and Virtuoso Guitar Cleaner and
Polish.
